Short answer: Our standard service package starts at 6,000 RMB (≈ USD 830) per car, plus a 10,000 RMB customs guarantee deposit (fully refunded when you exit China with the car). There are no hidden fees.

What is included in the service fee?

Many drivers ask for a clear breakdown of what it costs to temporarily import their car into China. Our package covers everything you need to cross the border legally:

The 10,000 RMB customs guarantee deposit is not a fee — it is a security hold that is returned to you in full 3–5 working days after you exit China with the vehicle. This deposit is a customs requirement, not charged by our agency.

What extra costs should you budget for?

The service fee covers the entry formalities, but you should budget for your own travel costs inside China:

How does the Mohan vs Horgos cost comparison work?

If you enter through Mohan (from Southeast Asia), our standard package for one car is 6,000 RMB. If you enter through Horgos (from Central Asia), the package is 8,000 RMB per car for the full route from entry to exit. The difference is due to the additional cross-regional filing required for the Xinjiang crossing.

Are there any other fees?

We do not charge hidden consultation fees, paperwork fees, or "service surcharges" on arrival. The quote we give you upfront is the full price. The only additional cost you might encounter is if you need to add a second driver to your temporary permit — we charge 500 RMB per extra driver for the additional permit processing.

Temporary import for a self-drive trip to China is far cheaper than most drivers expect, especially compared to shipping your car by sea. If you want a personalized quote for your specific trip, send us your entry port, travel dates, and number of drivers, and we will send you a full breakdown within 24 hours.
